New Work City
New Work City, which launched in November 2008, was a Manhattan-based coworking community of independent workers and small startups. In July 2015, New Work City transitioned into a network of coworking communities. My "Space Captain" position encompassed multiple roles, including operations manager, community leader, tour guide, receptionist, bartender, confidante, party planner, content marketer, and editor. The most integral aspect of the job was fostering community among our ±165 members whose professional backgrounds—though tech-industry leaning—were especially varied.
